my opinions on the TV show "The Prisioner(1967)" in staggered form

the material conditions have declared it so...
it is finally time for me to watch the 1967 tv series, "the prisoner".

watched the first episode and i am hooked
i have a thing for sounds of inexplicable objects invented in dubbing/ADR. entire thing reminded me of zardoz which of course came much later. also the idea of a global retirement home/purgatory for spies is just such an intuitive/edifying idea. cant wait to see where it goes. also big shout out to the Orb.

Nearing the end and still liking it
only a few more episodes left and it has still been largely enjoyable. quite inexcusably misogynistic in some parts. but the surreality does grant the show some amnesty, especially the milquetoast, mild manner with which it approaches politics.
a lot of the "individual vs collective" bits are a bore tbh, especially when strained through an ostensibly liberal production's worldview.
the revolving door of number twos has been interesting. a lot less orb features as the show goes on though.

loved the finale
one of the most endings of all time. rip to the orb.
