Pestle Forge
As a new plan emerges
to divide up the skies
before the pores of the earth
can burn themselves off for good
there needs to be a fair distribution
of the singed scraps of sinew
so that when the glass flows silica
and the steel thaws iron lungs
we can finally silence the naysayers
who said the odds were stacked
towering above the smog
with a rubber stamp
whose seal burns particulate
as it indexes the cosmos
