Who shall be allowed the tomb

The dark door calls to you
Enter
because we have made
a worse hell
for you outside
so the degrees of hurt
can fan into a gradient,
degrees of separation
between
death and birth
compressed
between
sanctions and austerity

Your bones demanded while you breathe
to make gypsum to wrap girders
of my fifth holiday home
overlooking mud huts
built with pomp and circumstance
to highlight the charity
of the erosion, the floods,
the cladding catching combustion,
the smug face accompanying
"the public good"
the hands disembodied
building the coffin for the next
as a more rational use of resources
